Ireland cont.

My cold is almost gone! Hooray. I got to enjoy the sun today by taking a boat out to the largest of the Aran Islands - Inis Mor. It was beautiful and I rented a bike to ride the scenic loop around the island, stopping to picnic on the beach and to hike in some pretty tidepools. I'm a little sore from all the riding now, and resting a bit before maybe hitting the pubs.

I am loving Galway, the streets are full of musicians and street artists, and it has been sunny since I got here yesterday. Dublin was great also, but I like the smaller towns better... However there was a really cool free museum, the Chester BEatty Library, which houses the largest collection of ancient Islamic texts outside the middle east, in addition to a bunch of other texts, lithographs, religious illistrations etc. Very cool, especially for free!

Tomorrow I will try to head to the Cliffs of Moher via public transit instead of taking a tour (I really don't like being on a bus that long... and after today, I remembered that I don't much like boats either! less time in transport is always better).

I am meeting lots of cool folks at this hostel - two girls from Chicago, two from Argentina, a bunch of guys from all over. My spanish has been getting a good workout lately, actually - I didn't think it would come in handy here!!

Much love to you all! Hope to find a computer that will let me post pictures again someday....
